Homenagem emocionante de Alonso ao “mentor”: “Um dia muito triste”

Apenas Graham Hill conseguiu vencer estes três eventos. Fernando Alonso ganhou dois, perdendo apenas a Indy 500. Em 2017, o espanhol liderou 27 voltas em Indianápolis antes de seu motor Honda falhar.
O forte desempenho de Alonso na famosa corrida deveu-se em parte a Gil de Ferran, que morreu na sexta-feira. No “X”, Alonso prestou uma emocionante homenagem ao brasileiro, que venceu a Indy 500 (em 2003).
“Estou sem palavras. É um dia muito triste. Obrigado pelos momentos que compartilhamos, por me ensinar de todo o coração como correr em ovais, e pelas inúmeras memórias que criamos juntos. Sentiremos sua falta Gil”, comentou.
Em comunicado no X, Stefano Domenicali, chefão da F1, escreveu: “Estou muito chocado e profundamente triste com a notícia de que perdemos Gil de Ferran. Ele era uma pessoa incrível e um verdadeiro campeão, e todos sentiremos muita falta dele. Nossos pensamentos estão com sua família neste momento muito triste”.
Enquanto isso, mais e mais equipes de F1 estão reagindo à morte do colega da McLaren, De Ferran. Williams, Haas, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Sauber e Mercedes já expressaram suas condolências.
