Definido em sua totalidade o grid da 96ª Indy 500

Foi definido hoje em sua integralidade o grid de largada para a 96ª edição das 500 Milhas de Indianapolis, a mais famosa prova do automobilismo. O Bump Day desta vez não teve grande importância, já que todos os pilotos inscritos garantiram vagas.

O mais rápido do domingo foi Sebastien Bourdais (Dragon), que cravou 223.760 milhas por hora de média. O resultado deu ao francês a 25ª posição no grid, já que as 24 vagas anteriores já haviam sido definidas no Pole Day do sábado.

A 33ª e última posição no grid ficou com o estreante Jean Alesi (Fan Force United), que cravou 210.094 milhas por hora de média com o fraco motor Lotus, que apenas ele e Simona de Silvestro (HVM) ostentam.

A pole ficou com Ryan Briscoe (Penske). O melhor brasileiro no grid é Hélio Castroneves (Penske), sexto colocado. Tony Kanaan (KV) é oitavo, Rubens Barrichello (KV) décimo e Bia Figueiredo (Andretti) 13ª.

A Indy 500 tem largada prevista para o próximo domingo (27/05), a partir das 13 horas (horário de Brasília). A Bandeirantes e o Bandsports transmitem ao vivo.
